May Greetings from Mrs. Moore and Ms. Priest
This is our last month with just a few weeks to go! It's been a terrific year with wonderful children and parents. Thank you for all your support!
A special thank you goes out to our hardworking board. They've done an extraordinary job, and spent many hours working behind the scenes to make sure that the preschool's future looks bright and strong. This year and next year will be the best ever because of your dedication and the momentum you've created. You're the greatest!
In May, both classes will start out focusing on you wonderful mothers, all that you do for us, and how we should appreciate you. There will be a Mother's Day Tea in your honor on Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9. A note with information on this special celebration has gone home. If you have any questions or didn't receive the note, please talk to the teachers. I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day because you certainly deserve it!
The following week we will have a unit on those ever popular creatures -- dinosaurs. We'll have lots of activities to go with this theme including set-up areas where the children can have fun letting the dinosaurs roam the Earth once again. In addition, our special guest, "The Reptile Man" will come with his "Creature Feature" show on Friday, May 16 around 10 o'clock. The 3's class is invited and I think you parents will love it as well -- it's a show not to miss! Please talk to the teachers if you'd like more information.
In the last week, we will talk about summer and summer vacations. We'll learn about ocean life and do some camping in a special area set up under the stars.
Your child's last school day will be full of fun activities. The 3's class will have some games, boat races, and a picnic starting at noon (weather permitting). You bring the picnic and we'll provide a special treat.
On the 4's last day we'll have a little carnival during the last 45 minutes of the day. We need a few volunteers to work at some booths. It's great fun for you and your child, and we won't be able to have the carnival without your help. A sign-up sheet for the booths will be posted later in the month above your parent folders. Following the carnival there will be a picnic starting at noon, with a small graduation ceremony and cake to celebrate this event. There will be a note in your parent folder with more information.
Thank you for sharing your little ones with us! It's been a wonderful year!
